Energy-Saving Efforts in the Business Activities

The OKI Group considers the maximization of energy consumption efficiency in the business activities and countermeasures against global warming as the critical issues to be addressed continuously in the future in order to achieve low-carbon societies. The Group is currently working on various energy-saving measures, including production efficiency improvement through improved facility operations and planned renovations of aged facilities (i.e. proactive introduction of energy-saving products).
The Group also participates in Keidanren's Commitment to a Low Carbon Society, which has been in full operation since fiscal 2013. The OKI Group will continue to promote proactive approaches in both areas of product/services and business activities with long-term perspectives.

Reducing Environmental Impact of Physical Distribution

OKI Proserve, a company in charge of OKI's logistics operations, has promoted a modal shift since a very early stage in order to reduce CO2 emissions during transportation, while creating a data base of transportation information to aggregate the data required by the Energy Saving Law. In fiscal 2017, it achieved a reduction of 520t-CO2 emissions through the modal shift. CO2 emissions from all transportation activities were 5,150t-CO2.

Energy used for trucking can be reduced to one-third through modal shift to rail transport.
